"Medic" U.S. WWII
Modeling the U.S. Army in WWII

This is the "alter ego" of YANKS "U.S. Medic Treating Wounded Man" (see my review of that figure set). Here the wounded man is wearing a poncho. The medic is in khaki/tan overalls and large black rubber overshoes. These clothes will dictate the setting for these figures---more appropriate for a cold, wet autumn scene near the Seigfried Line than June in St. Lo.

The quality of the sculpting and casting is as excellent as one typically expects from Verlinden and all the pieces fit together well. Unlike the Yanks medic, this one is not holding anything in his hands; this is a plus if you want to have him hold a bag or tie a bandage. You'll have to do a little extra work to achieve that activity however.

The downside of this kit is that there is no additional gear or equipment included. The wounded man has no pack or weapon, and the medic does not have any supply bag. In this respect I consider this kit incomplete. Manufacturers should always supply their figures with whatever personal accessories that would be typical for them in their duties.

Consequently, this set falls short of what it could have been if the boys at Verlinden had gone the extra step.
